While most Human Resource professionals balk at the idea of flirting in a workspace, dating coach Ahmad Fadli Mohd Nazari reveals turning on the charm could be what you need to score that dream job (or girl).
Though such techniques have earned a dubious reputation due to pick up artist like Julien Blanc and Neil Strauss’ book The Game, KC prefers to call his method seduction as he emphasises mutual attraction over manipulation.
“Seduction is mutual. You can never trick a girl into going out or sleeping with you if they do not want to,” he says.
That said KC assures that seduction techniques can be applied to other aspects of life, especially professional pursuits like a job interview.
“Among the things that I advocate for Seduction to happen is clarity of mind and being persuasive in influencing the outcome that you want in an interaction,” he says.
He elaborates this clarity of mind will help the applicant ask themselves what they expect from the interview beyond just showing off what they can bring to the table.
Following the philosophy of mutual attraction, an applicant should consider using the interview as an opportunity to establish what they want in a job, if it was a good fit, or to get a read if their future boss was someone they’d want to work with.
Asked if there was a way to overcome preconceived notions an employer could have based on a weak resume, KC says changing that impression was a non-factor.
“If an employer does not like who you are on paper, you won’t be called for an interview,” he puts bluntly.
Once you do get that foot in the door, there’s still work to do though.
KC points out that the old adage of actions speak louder than words applies to great employers, whose employee screening process would go beyond just a candidate’s ability to articulate themselves.
“In Seduction, I always tell my students to attract women by who they are and not what you say. So if you ask me what are the best pick up line to get girls, you will be disappointed,” he reveals.
Leaving a lasting impression is also as important as a good first impression, as a spotty dating or employment history does no one favours.
KC believes resumes were now a mere formality in a hiring process: good candidates are usually recommended from a former employer.
“In Seduction, the idea is that you are a good man if the Women you have been with speak well about you to other Women, even though you are no longer seeing her,” he says.
His advice goes to show, though people might dread eventually being married to the job, it all starts with that solid first date.
